ANDY STAHL DELIVERS…

Andy could have spent an hour talking about his body of work over his long career and the famous actors he has worked with, but he did not.

Right brain, creative artist Andy sat alone on the stage, his only prop was the chair he was sitting in, no bright lights, no makeup, and no movie cameras, just Andy and his glad to be "captive audience."

Native Butler County resident, Andy talked about his interest in art since a child. He would spend hours in the Margie Helm Library in Bowling Green and his love for painting while attending WKU.

If you would like to know more about how many dozens of movies and TV shows he has been in, Google Andy Stahl. If you wanted to know how Andy thinks and prepares for his craft, you should have been at the Butler County Art Guild Friday night.

Art is a pursuit, journey, body of work, and don't be afraid to make mistakes.

Art is intuitive and stimulates your creativity.

When a person surrounds themselves with like-minded artists, the communal effect makes everyone better.

You couldn't help but laugh when Andy talked about the band he was in as a teenager. The band went to Atlantic City Beach to compete in the National Battle of the Bands. In his words, "we were terrible "the other groups had been playing together for years and were professional, we were a ragtag bunch of teenagers, we loved it.

One of the many entertaining areas he talked about was how deep into a character you had to get. Sometimes trying to "be "the character, so when you said your lines, you are the character. Many actors get so involved; it takes them months to get back to "themselves."

 I give Andy …5 Stars
