Alcohol is the most commonly used and abused substance

What is the most commonly used and abused drug among youth in the United States?  According to the CDC, it is alcohol.  Although the legal age to purchase alcohol is 21, youth ages 12-20 years old accounted for 11% of all alcohol consumed in the US.  There are so many consequences associated with underage drinking.  These include but are not limited to school problems, social issues, legal issues, memory problems, abuse of other drugs, car crashes and other unintentional injuries, sexual assault, and even death.  Unfortunately, kids sometimes don’t think about the consequences of their actions.  Talk to your child about the dangers of alcohol!
