Aggressive Iron Brings Home the Hardware

Local power lifters competed recently in Bowling Green at the 10th Annual Push/Pull Meet at the Parks and Recreation Center.  This competition consisted of power lifters from all ages, both male and female, from surrounding counties and cities, with the same goals of competeing their lifts in bench press and dead lifts.
A team from Morgantown, Aggressive Iron Barbell Club, made the trip to compete.  The team is lead by Brad Baize and Travis McIntosh, who both have been lifting weights for the past decade.  They have spread their passion to a few others, Dustin “Hog” Embry, Manvel Ortiz, Reed House, Rich Ellis, and Tammy Green.  Every team member came home with hardware.
Embry took third place in bench press and dead lift in his weight class.  Ortiz took first place in bench press and second place in dead lift while Ellis took second place in bench press and first in dead lift in the same class.  House placed second in dead lift in his weight class and Green placed second in dead lift in the female category.
Baize had his personal best pull of 530 pounds in the dead lift, and took home first place.  He was also named second place Overall Male Lifter and second place in bench press.  McIntosh was named Best Overall Male Lifter for the event.  He had the highest bench press of the day at 450 pounds and second place in dead lift.
“It was a very successful day for all the lifters of Aggressive Iron,” said McIntosh.
A special thanks to Chris Flener for assisting the team and serving as the main spotter for all the team members.
