What’s your favorite pizza chain? Do you take extras (salad bars, dessert pizza) into account? One response was as follows: Greg Drake says “Pizza King is a chain that may be only in Indiana, The best one is in Connersville. I had a fraternity brother from Connersville and I got hooked on it in college. Whenever I go to Indiana I try and find a pizza king. They have a flat crust, sell beer, and their Royal Feast is just that”.

My friend Jaclyn said feta cheese is a must! I have different things I like at different places.  I like a lot of sauce, so I rarely do Pizza Hut anymore.  They have gotten to where they put little to no sauce on their pizza anymore.  That’s why I like Firehouse the best.  They load up on sauce as well as toppings.

When I’m in Nashville, Jets is the prime spot for pizza.  Now that there’s one in bowling green, I figure that’s where my pizza will be coming from. I do wonder, however, if the addition of Jets will over-saturate bowling green with pizza places and one will fall victim.  They now have Jets, Lost River, Pizza Hut, Mancino’s just to name a few.  I like the take and bake aspect that Mancino’s offers.  That’s what sets them apart.

I also enjoy Lil’ Stevie’s in Central City.  They offer a pizza buffet, which is what I always get when I go.  I load up: a piece of meat lovers, piece of pepperoni, and usually a couple more.  They also have the dessert pizza (cinnamon).  I always eat too much when I go in there.  That is a hallmark of a good pizza place: eating too much because you just love their pizza. Mellow Mushroom in bowling green also got a couple of votes.

With bowling green being a college town, they obviously have a lot of choices as far as pizza goes.  If I were to rate it by sheer volume and number of pizza joints, at least locally, bowling green is, or at least has quickly turned into, the prime spot.  Choices certainly abound locally.  That is, most definitely, a good thing.
