Against The Grain by: Andy Sullivan
I’m an avid reader. Being that summertime is upon us, I figure I’d share some of my favorites. Maybe some of these will capture enough interest that someone out there will try one. Lately I’ve been reading a lot of Derek Blass. I’m absolutely hooked on his Enemy In Blue series. These books are subtitled as Cruz Marquez novels. In short, these books chronicle a tale of cops whose former superior, Sergeant Shaver, went rogue.
Each book goes in depth so that you can understand each character with separate storylines but always intertwine in a roundabout way. My introduction to the series was Enemy In Blue: Police. I followed that up with Allegiance. I just finished the latest, The Trial. After each one I anticipate the next. The first book, Enemy In Blue: The Chase, is one that I actually have yet to read. I like to start a series at the beginning, so it was a surprise to find that I hadn’t actually started at the beginning.
David Baldacci and Lisa Scottoline are also favorites of mine. I also get hooked on comedian’s books. The last great one I read was Steve Martin: Born Standing Up. David Baldacci is also a good author. Lisa Scottoline. Just yesterday I finally started Coach Cal’s book Players First: Coaching from the Inside Out. So far I’m really enjoying it.
So there’s a little insight on what I like to read. If any of these sound good to you, I suggest that you look it up on your reading device, or go get the hard copy if you’re still doing that. I’ll let you in on a little secret: almost all the time, the book is much cheaper on your reader device. Happy reading!
