Ag Commissioner Shell makes visit to Morgantown
Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell made a visit to Butler County Clerk's office Monday, February 17th to promote Ag Tag donations. Anyone renewing their farm plates can donate up to $10 to be equally divided among Kentucky 4-H, Kentucky FFA, and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture for promotional programs. Sherry Johnson, Butler County Clerk, stated, “The funds collected in the Butler County Clerk’s Office benefits our kids.”
State 4-H Officer, Maggie Drake, 4-H members, and FFA members were able to attend. County Extension Agent, Lloyd Saylor and BCHS Ag Teacher, Madilyn Dowell coordinated the event along with Johnson. Magistrates Allen Smith and Dillon Bryant, along with Johnson took everyone to lunch at Farm Boy. Shell traveled with Smith and Bryant touring the flood waters of Butler County.
