With wildfires raging through Canada, creating a blanket of smoke across much of the eastern half of the United States, one local industry is leading the way with ground breaking fire suppression technology.  Aerospace Composite Solutions, partnering with Recoil-USA, demonstrated the newly-developed Tsunami Fire Suppression System on Wednesday, June 7th.

The Tsunami fire suppression solution is the world’s only liquid tank using pneumatic systems – a lighter, smaller, higher performing, and environmentally friendly alternative to hydraulics. They are also the only tanks built of carbon fiber – stronger than steel, lighter than aluminum, and completely repairable.

Manufactured right here in Morgantown, Aerospace Composite Solutions has developed a manufacturing process for this system using their innovative and class leading carbon fiber and composite manufacturing capabilities to create the Tsunami System.  The Tsunami system is completely self-contained, capable of hauling 1000 gallons of water in a collapsible tank which is able to be fitted under low clearance helicopters to help fight wildfires like those which are occurring in Canada.  These units can be fitted to former military helicopters and other civilian helicopters at a savings to the purchasing agencies while at the same time providing flexibility and life saving fire suppression capabilities.

Aerospace Composite Solutions demonstrated the Tsunami Fire Suppression System (T1000-E) for members of the Morgantown/Butler County Chamber of Commerce, the Butler County School System, and buyers from South Korea.  The first six units in production have already been purchased and the buyers from South Korea were able to be trained in the use of and see the system demonstrated first hand.

Aerospace Composite Solutions along with Recoil-USA are leading the industry in the design and manufacturing of new and groundbreaking fire suppression technologies.  This fire suppression system will be used across the globe, reaching out to save lives and protect property for countless communities and countries across the globe.  Manufactured right here in Morgantown, KY, the impact of the Tsunami System will be felt worldwide.

Supt. Robert Tuck and Chamber President Ryan Emmick were presented replicas of the T1000-E.
