Accident leads to drug charges

Butler County Sheriff Deputy Joe Alford was dispatched to the 3000 block of Rochester Road for a single-vehicle accident on Friday night around 7:43 pm. 

Samuel T. Wilson, (DOB 12/15/85) of Bowling Green, was sitting in the driver's seat of a 2011 black Hyundai Sonata.  Deputy Alford detected a strong alcohol odor, Wilson exited the vehicle on the passenger's side and was escorted to the Butler County EMS Ambulance.  Wilson permitted officials to search his vehicle for proof of insurance.  Deputy Alford found a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana in the driver's side door with residue inside, a black cloth container in the driver's floorboard with several small bags of suspected meth inside, a glass meth pipe in the center console, and marijuana. EMS personnel found a metal container on Wilson containing several unidentified pills.  Upon a complete search of his body, more pills were located, $3,525 in cash, and four money orders for $988.15 each.  He admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day and having an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle.  Wilson was transported to the Medical Center for treatment and then lodged in the Butler County Jail.
Charges included: operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/ drugs/ect..08 first offense, possession of open alcohol beverage container in motor vehicle, prescription controlled substance not in proper container first offense, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia buy/possess, trafficking in a controlled substance first degree (methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance first degree (opiates), and possession of controlled substance first degree-second offense-drug unspecified.
Also responding were: Butler County EMS, Morgantown VFD, KSP, Butler County Rescue Squad, and Butler County Sheriff Deputy Heath West.
