Having begun to experience revival, we at Aberdeen Baptist Church pray that as we once again reflect upon our rich Christian heritage, we build upon our solid foundation in Christ, anticipating the work God has in store for us. Pastor Roger Taylor and the congregation of Aberdeen Baptist Church warmly welcome the public to join us for our annual Homecoming Celebration Sunday, October 2, 2016. We plan to showcase our congregation’s musical talent as the public has come to expect on this joyous occasion, both in the morning service and afternoon singing.

    According to Special Music Coordinator Jacob Mudd, “the 10:30 AM Worship Service promises special performances by the choir, youth trio, Bluegrass band, and the Travelers Quartet as well powerful congregational singing of standard hymns.” Aberdeen loves sound preaching, as well, and looks forward to how the LORD will inspire us through Dr. Taylor’s sermon. After dismissal of the morning worship service around noon, all are invited to enjoy a delicious hot meal, salads, and desserts which our talented cooks prepare especially for this day!
    The 1:30 PM concert will feature The Johnsons and The Mark Mudd Family. The families look forward to sharing the stage together again at home at Aberdeen for the first time since their highly successful April 2015 joint concert debuting their CDs. While offering a primarily southern gospel sound, both groups deliver the Gospel through fine family harmony and a variety of styles as they travel all over the region. Eli, Rachel, Melissa, and Kirk and Jacob, Rebecca, and Mark are sure to bless and inspire hearts.
    Each Aberdeen Baptist Homecoming has marked the absence of dearly loved members, the past four, especially, and perhaps, 2016’s being the most difficult of all. We encourage anyone interested in coming to begin making plans now to join us. Let us celebrate our great legacy together so that we may live today in fullness of the Spirit, facing a future God only knows and for which He is already preparing us!
