$4,439 Raised for Morgantown Mission Food Boxes

“THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all the individuals, groups, and organizations that donated to the Morgantown Mission. We had a need and God provided,” said Garry McKinney, director of the Morgantown Mission.
As of Tuesday afternoon the total amount raised by the WLBQ 1570am radio fund raiser was $4,439, which equals 147 boxes of food for those in need during the holidays.
McKinney approached Diane Dyer, co-owner of Beech Tree Media, a few months ago about possible ways to raise money for holiday food boxes. They decided on a remote broadcast from the Mission.  Part of the BtN family: Smokin Joe Morris, Kathy Thomason, Landon Hampton, Jeremy Hack, John Embry, and Dyer did a live remote on Friday from 8:00 till 12:00.
“We had a great day and enjoyed helping the Mission,” said Smokin Joe.
The goal was 100 boxes, however, the community responded and by noon 130 boxes had been sponsored.  Money continued to come in on Friday afternoon as well as Monday and Tuesday.
“We (Beech Tree) want to thank everyone that donated money, took their time to stop by, called in, and spoke with us on the air,” added Dyer.
