Southerland Farms Weddings and Events was the place to be Monday night. Seventeen 4-H kids earned thirty-three awards at the state level. The winners were announced during a statewide Zoom meeting.

The 4-H Shooting Sports have a wide variety to choose from, including archery, rifles, pistols, and trap.  Many of the kids participated in more than one event. They have been practicing at the Butler County Extension Office and the Butler County Conservation Club.

Blake Deweese won a hundreds dollars from Lloyd Saylor for shooting a perfect 25 in Trap.

Lloyd Saylor, 4-H Youth Development Agent, led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge.

Tim Southerland, head coach, welcomed everyone and emphasized the hard work that the kids and the coaches had gone through in these difficult times to learn and compete. He also thanked the parents for getting the kids to practice. They follow the National 4-H Shooting Guidelines, which include learning how to safely use a firearm, developing friendships, and learning team work. The girls also compete and won several awards this year.
