4-H Programs and Camp

4-H Project Day Camp (Craft Camp)

The Butler County 4-H Project Day Camp will be June 27-June 29 at the Eva Hawes Ag Expo Building from 9 a.m.—3 p.m.  We will have many projects available including:  woodworking, needle stitching, cooking, nature crafts, photography, painting, and much, much more.

This will be an EXCELLENT opportunity to make a project for the Butler County 4-H Project Show held during the Catfish Festival!  All ribbon winners in the 4-H Project Show win COLD, HARD CASH and 4-H youth get to show their project at the Kentucky State Fair in August.  4-H Cloverbuds (age 8 and under) can also attend this camp and show/compete at the Catfish Festival.

Registration is $20/day or $35/for all days and all materials and lunch are included.  Registration due by June 20th.

 4-H Cloverbud Camp
Your kids love summer break - looking forward to family vacations, getting to swim, playing with friends, and attending 4-H Camp!  But, what about the little ones that might be too young to attend 4-H Camp?  Have you heard, “Mom, I wanna go too,” as you’re watching your older children leave for 4-H Camp?

Here’s your chance to make plans for the young ones to experience 4-H Camp too!

4-H Cloverbud Camp will be held on Friday, June 1st – Sunday, June 3rd at the West KY 4-H Camp in Dawson Springs.  This weekend camp is open to youth (ages 5-8) and a chaperoning parent and will have many activities available that our ‘older’ 4-H youth get to experience during 4-H Summer Camp.

What will you be doing over the weekend?  Glad you asked – there will be flag services, swimming, canoeing, archery, rifle, outdoor living and nature classes, movies, dances and yes – CAMPFIRES!  All meals and snacks are included, and there’s even a little country store on hand for additional snacks and souvenirs.

Registration is $120/person attending, and forms can be picked up at the Extension Office.  Hurry, deadline to get everything in is April 30th!

4-H Volunteers Complete Shooting Sports Coach Certification

We would like to congratulate our three newest certified 4-H Shooting Sports coaches – Tim Southerland as a Rifle Coach, and Kaylee VanMeter and Ciara Jones as 4-H Teen Archery Coaches.  They attended and successfully graduated the Western Kentucky Coaches Workshop in Paducah.

Congratulations and we look forward to another GREAT 4-H Shooting Sports year!
