Holiday basketball is alive and well in Butler County as the 2nd Annual BtN/WLBQ Christmas Classic is set for Monday, December 19 and Tuesday, December 20, in Morgantown.  

Beech Tree News and WLBQ-The New Q 101.5 partnered last year with the Butler County Boys' basketball program to bring a traditional Christmas tournament back to Butler County.  That event was a huge success and a the partnership continues this year with the 2016 BtN/WLBQ Christmas Classic.  

"We had great tournament last year and expect the same this time around," said Calvin Dockery, BCHS head basketball coach.  "We really appreciate Beech Tree News and WLBQ for stepping up as our lead sponsor to make this basketball event possible for our team and community." 

Five teams total will be making the trek to Morgantown to participate in the BtN/WLBQ Christmas Classic.  They are Buckhorn, McLean County, Green County, Henry County, and Hickman County.  Butler County will play two games.

Below is the game schedule for the two-day event:

Monday, December 19

12 p.m. Buckhorn vs. McLean County

2 p.m.Green County vs. Henry County

4 p.m.Buckhorn vs. Butler County

6 p.m.McLean County vs. Henry County

Tuesday, December 20

2 p.m.Henry County vs. Buckhorn 

4:15 p.m. Green County vs. McLean County

6:30 p.m. Hickman County vs. Butler County

"We're glad to be a partner with Coach Dockery and the boys' team in sponsoring this tournament," said John Embry, BtN vice-president.  "Christmas tournaments have long been a tradition in high school basketball and we're happy that Butler County is able to host a quality event like this one."  

Official BtN/WLBQ Christmas Classic t-shirts will be on sale.  They are $10 each; $12 for 2x.  Both Butler County games will be broadcast live on WLBQ-The New Q101.5.
