2013 BCHS Cheer Squad readies for busy year

The Butler County Cheerleaders have started their year off with a camp at BCHS July 15-17. The Cheerforce Coaches from Bowling Green conducted a 3-day camp in the fieldhouse on the BCHS campus.

The girls worked very hard at learning new cheer stunts and their competition routine for the year," said Coach Lisa Rhoades.

Throughout the week the cheerleaders and coaches participated in team building activities such as bowling and mini-golf at Southern Lanes and a pool party at the Morgantown City Pool.

The 2013-2014 squad consists of: Senior Laura Baseheart(captain), Juniors Bailey Hunt(captain), Becca Daugherty(co-captain), Sarah Johnson(co-captain), Kortney Barbier, Callie Dockery, Hannah Renfrow, Hannah Tomes, Molly Sanders, Sophomores Erica Daugherty, Bethany Rice, Caitlin Coleman, Hanna Gruber, Miranda Maxfiled and freshmen Kendra Dockery, Aspen Arnold, Lydia Bratcher, Shelby Palmer, Haley Hope, Hayden Johnson, and Macy West.

The cheerleader program will continue to have Lisa Rhoades as head coach and we have added two former BCHS Cheerleaders as coaches; Whitney Vincent and Shelby Baseheart. Former head coach Ashley Vincent will be helping this year as a competition coach.

"We are looking forward to cheering on the Butler County Bears to many victories in the upcoming school year," said Rhoades.
