2013 BCHS Boys Soccer Team Underway

The boy’s high school soccer team, coached by Jim Melton, is a little short when it comes to seniors. Only having two seniors is rough, but with the team holding seven juniors, ten sophomores, four freshman and three middle school athletes, this will help build the soccer program in the years to come.

Chase McCoy and Trevor Fulton, being the two seniors, are relying on the younger players to step up by playing to their full potential and helping the team win.
The seven players from the junior class that will be helping the seniors out are Hunter Johnson, Matt Thomas, Cameron Price, Chris Coleman, Sergio Rada, Andrew Givens, and Dillon Jones.

With such a big number of sophomore boys playing, you would assume some of these kids would get some playing time at the varsity level this season. The boys from the sophomore class are Terrance Beatty, Austin Nave, Zeb Pendley, Dalton Edmonds, Hunter West, Matt Flener, Caden Cardwell, Wyatt Southerland, Jonathan McGranahan, and John Payton.

Rounding out the team is four freshmen Conner Brown, Austin Norris, Tony Perez, and Miguel Perez as well as three middle school boys Austin Burden, Ernest Lee, and Kenyon Sutherland.

The season didn’t start off the way the boys or coaches would have liked. The Bears are 0-4 losing to tough competitors, Logan County, Meade County,Grayson County and Muhlenberg County. This week the team is looking to redeem themselves and even out their record as they face off against Grayson County on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. Come out and support your Butler County Bears soccer team.
