The NJROTC hosted the Navy Day Ball at Butler County High School on October 20, 2012, in honor of the United States Navy’s 237th birthday. Mr. Scott Howard, Superintendent of the Butler County School System, Mr. Patrick O’Driscoll, Principal of BCHS, and 100 cadets with dates were in attendance. The National Anthem was sung by the Commanding Officer Candace Ibarra, Christopher Coleman, and Jocelyn Kuprion. Following was the recognition of POW and MIA’s. King and Queen were awarded to one female and one male, voted for by the cadets of the unit. Winner of king was Senior Austin Searles; winner of Queen was Junior Caitlynn Price. Also awarded were Prince and Princess, these were awarded to Freshman Cameron Price and Sophomore Ciara Bolden. Volunteers served chicken and steak for the guests, cadets, and their dates. DJ Jon Cox with Jamco Entertainment kept the dancers moving during the evening dance portion. All in all, dressing up and supporting the United States Navy made it a great night for everyone.
