12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament to tip off Feb. 21

BROWNSVILLE — The 2022-23 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament will tip off at Edmonson County High School on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Butler County, Edmonson County, Grayson County and Whitesville Trinity will each compete in the 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament.

Edmonson County and Butler County each compiled a 4-2 12th District record during the regular season. Following the Wildcats and Bears, Whitesville Trinity compiled a 3-3 record versus 12th District teams. Rounding out the 12th District field, Grayson County finished 1-5.

Host Edmonson County is slated to meet Grayson County in the opening game of the 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The Wildcats swept a two-game regular season series from the Cougars.

Butler County is matched up against Whitesville Trinity in the nightcap of the 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The Bears and Raiders split a two-game regular season series.

The winners from the Edmonson County/Grayson County and Butler County/Whitesville Trinity matchups will move on to the 12th District boys' basketball title game on Friday, Feb. 24.

Grayson County is the reigning 12th District boys' basketball champion. Determined Grayson County edged Whitesville Trinity 58-56 in the 2021-22 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament title game.

Both the champion and runner-up from the 12th District will advance to the 3rd Region Boys' Basketball Tournament.
