12th District Baseball: Bears Fall to Edmonson Co. 2-0

The Butler County baseball team’s post-season run ended last week with a 2-0 loss to Edmonson County in the 12th district tournament.  The tournament marked the first time that BCHS has hosted the event at their new baseball complex.

Dillen White
Senior Dillen White was the starting pitcher for the Bears, throwing a complete game, only allowing 1 earned and 1 unearned run to cross the plate.  White struck out 5 batters and only allowed 4 hits in his 7 innings of work.  Despite the great pitching performance by White, the Bears were unable to get their bats going.

Caleb Hunt and Blake Graham led the Bears offense with 2 hits a piece. Cole Tynes and Carrington Harpe each picked up 1 hit on the night.  BCHS actually out-hit Edmonson with 5 hits, but were unable to connect with runners in scoring position.
Following the Bears loss, Edmonson advanced to the district championship against number 1 seeded Grayson County. Grayson continued their winning ways in the tournament and beat Edmonson 10-6 to take home the 12th district title.
