MES Academic Team is the 2014 District Governor’s Cup Champions

Morgantown Elementary’s Academic Team is the 2014 District Governor’s Cup Champions. They traveled to Western Elementary on Saturday, March 1st to compete against three other schools: Western Elementary, Southern Elementary, and North Butler Elementary. The day consisted of students taking written tests in many academic areas as well as each team competing in a Quick Recall Tournament. Every event allows opportunities for teams to earn points. Morgantown Elementary took second place in the Quick Recall event. The following students tested and placed in the following areas:
Math: Hannah Gill – 1st place
             Bodie Hammer – 2nd Place
             Summer Taylor – 5th place
Science: Gabrielle Stark – 3rd place
Composition (Writing): Harley Howard – 1st place
                                              Isabella Hunt – 4th place
                                             Mary Beth Embry – 5th
Social Studies: Bodie Hammer – 3rd place
