It’s time for me to say goodbye to this column, “A Slice of Time.” I began writing it for Beechtree News in April 2011 – just over 15 years ago. I have enjoyed the research, the writing process, and sharing my views. I have included my family’s and friends’ thoughts, my beliefs about a wide variety of topics, and the joy and grief related to my loved ones’ lives. Basically, I have shared my life on this platform.

I am grateful that years ago we moved to Butler County to work and raise our children. As my late husband and I said many times, Butler County has been good to our family, and that continues to be true. This column has been good for me, too. It provided a bit of structure to my life following the loss of my husband. Also, I have been blessed by readers’ encouragement along the way.

Although I will no longer write “A Slice of Time,” I am grateful to Beechtree News leadership – John Embry and Diane Dyer – for allowing me to share my thoughts for so many years. I am thankful to each person who helped me with my column, especially my daughters who have been faithful proofreaders, and to my readers. I have certainly been blessed.
