Welcome Fellowship Church Receives Kentucky Tire Crumb Rubber Grant
The Derived Products Grant for Welcome Fellowship Community Playground
Morgantown, Kentucky- May 19, 2026 - Welcome Fellowship Church, located in northern Butler County is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a generous grant from the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet to assist with the construction of the playground on our property.
The grant will be utilized to fund the installation of poured-in-place rubber playground surfacing, further enhancing safety, accessibility and inclusivity for all playground visitors.
The grant funding provided by the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet's Crumb Rubber/Tire Derived Products program comes from the Waste Tire Trust Fund, established in 1998 by the Kentucky General Assembly to receive fees collected from
new tire sales.
"This grant program promotes innovative uses for recycled tires," said Energy and Environment Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Goodman. "As a result, we're able to help grow tire recycling markets across the state, encourage proper management of waste tires,
and minimize illegal dumps."
