MB&T Ribbon Cutting

On April 28th, over 200 members of the community came to celebrate Morgantown Bank and Trust’s ribbon-cutting ceremony and official grand opening of their new Main Office.

 

The Butler County High School Band and Chamber Choir performed for those in attendance. Tours were given of the new building, along with refreshments and door prizes. 


Judge Executive Tim Flener, Mayor Billy Phelps, Chairman of the Board, Sam Moore and Deneatra Henderson joined Morgantown Bank and Trust President/CEO, Jason Jones in sharing the bank’s history and impact in our community.


Chairman of the Board, Sam Moore, expressed how pleased Morgantown Bank and Trust is in being known as a locally owned community bank. “There are currently 229 stockholders, and over 90% of those stockholders are either a Butler Countian or have close ties to Butler County,” Moore stated. He also touched on the history of the bank, beginning in 1880. The bank’s first permanent building dated 1885, with the second being constructed in 1961. 

Morgantown Bank and Trust President/CEO, Jason Jones, thanked the city in their efforts in assisting preserve the oldest city sidewalk in Morgantown, located beside the new main office. Along with preserving history, Morgantown Bank and Trust’s new building has the city’s first-ever skywalk connecting to the Data Center. He also thanked the many Butler County local businesses that had a part in the construction of the new bank. He gave appreciation to the employees stating, “you are the heart of the organization…this building and every project we have completed is a direct reflection of your hard work, dedication, and the way you serve your customers each and every day.”

Judge Executive, Tim Flener, recognized Morgantown Bank and Trust as being a steady, trusted part of the community and the growth it has shown by expanding into new areas. Flener stated, “This new facility is more than just a building…it is a symbol of continued growth…it reflects not only on the success of Morgantown Bank and Trust, but also the strength in the momentum of Butler County.”

“Morgantown Bank is Morgantown. It created our town, helped sustain our town, and most of our businesses here are through Morgantown Bank,” Morgantown Mayor, Billy Phelps, explained. 

"We are incredibly grateful to Morgantown Bank & Trust for helping us to preserve a special piece of our city’s history. This sidewalk isn’t just concrete—it’s the oldest and last surviving stretch from Morgantown’s past. We placed a marker to protect it for future generations to see and appreciate. This is how we honor where we’ve been while continuing to move forward,"said Mayor Phelps.
