MB&T presents $12,500 in scholarships

Tinslea Belcher and Jackson Kimbler recipients from Butler County

With the school year winding down, Morgantown Bank & Trust announced its annual scholarship recipients in a ceremony on Wednesday, April 29 at the bank's main office.  

Five outstanding student recipients were selected from Butler, Ohio, and Warren counties - including two from Butler County - Tinslea Belcher and Jackson Kimbler

"This is a special opportunity for us to celebrate local students and invest in the future of our communities," said MB&T President Jason Jones.  

Morgantown Bank & Trust presented a total of $12,500 in scholarships.

Below are the recipients:  


Tinslea Belcher (Butler County)


-4.0 GPA and strong academic performance


-Student-athlete involved in basketball and softball


-Balanced athletics, school, and part-time work responsibilities


-Overcame multiple medical challenges with resilience and determination


-Active in school and community service activities


-Plans to attend OCTC 


-Intended field: Nursing (goal of working in neonatal care - NICU)



Jackson Kimbler (Butler County)


-4.0 GPA and dual-credit coursework


-Active member of marching band and concert band


-Participated in academic and leadership organizations


-First-generation college student


-Balance school, work, and extracurricular commitments


-Plans to attend WKU


-Intended major: Accounting & Music Performance



Claire Ellington (Warren County)


-Strong academic record with advanced coursework


-Active in student organizations and leadership roles


-Involved in community service and volunteer efforts


-Demonstrated leadership, reliability, and strong character


-Well-rounded student balancing academics and extracurriculars


-Plans to attend WKU


-Intends to attend medical school (goal of working in emergency room)



Reese Bedo (Warren County)


-Excellent academic achievement with a rigorous course load


-Active in multiple school organizations and extracurricular activities


-Demonstrated leadership and initiative


-Well-rounded student with diverse interests


-Committed to personal grown and service


-Plans to attend University of Kentucky


-Intended field: Physician’s Assistant



Andrew Fulkerson (Ohio County)


-High academic achiever with a strong GPA 


-Active participant in school activities and athletics


-Demonstrated consistency, discipline, and leadership


-Strong work ethic both in and out of the classroom


-First scholarship recipient representing Ohio County


-Plans to attend WKU

 

-Intended Major: Accounting
