Olive Branch Pregnancy Resource Center Ribbon Cutting

The Morgantown Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Olive Branch Pregnancy Resource Center on Tuesday, May 26.
“Congratulations and a heartfelt thank you to Olive Branch Pregnancy Center for choosing Morgantown as the starting point for what I know will be a great ministry and blessing to so many families. When organizations with a heart for helping others choose our community, it speaks volumes about the people of Morgantown and the caring spirit we have here. This ministry will provide hope, encouragement, compassion, and support to mothers, fathers, and children during some of life’s most important moments,” said Morgantown Mayor Billy Phelps.
The Olive Branch Pregnancy Resource Center's goal is to provide compassionate support, essential resources, and a welcoming haven for women and families navigating pregnancy and beyond.
The inspiration for Olive Branch comes from Hollie Neighbor’s personal experience. At 17, she found herself pregnant and single, with the health department as her only refuge. Motivated by her journey, she set out to create a more personal and supportive space for others facing similar challenges in the county.
She shared that opening the center has been on her heart for about a year. “I would just love to be able to help the community,” she said. “The Lord was calling me to open a pregnancy center.”
The center will offer free, confidential pregnancy tests—no sign-up required, so visitors don’t feel nervous or overwhelmed. Additional support will be available for expectant mothers and women with young children, including access to recorded guidance.
She noted that many places can feel more like pity than genuine help. “Many places are seen as pity,” she said. “But I’ve been through it. I know how it is, and I just want to help.” Her goal is to make people feel understood, not judged.
Olive Branch is affiliated with Care Net International, a pro-life ministry, and welcomes both men and women. Plans include offering a post-abortion Bible study for anyone seeking that support. The founder views the center as a ministry, hoping to “plant the seed of Christ” by offering hope to those who walk through its doors.

Initially, the center will focus on basic services, with plans to expand over time. Future offerings may include parenting classes and assistance in connecting people with additional community resources—such as obtaining a GED, applying for medical assistance, or finding housing. The founder emphasized her commitment to helping people find whatever support they need.
They aim to open by mid-May, with hours Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Even before opening, the center is already engaging with the community. Their first event will be the Med Center Expectant Baby Fair on May 15, from 2 to 6 p.m., followed by another event on May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Preschool Education Complex Early Education Center.
Neighbors described the community’s support as “overwhelming positive outreach.” Currently, the center is accepting donations of money and baby supplies, and a baby bottle fundraiser is planned for May. Donations can be made via their Amazon baby registry or through links on their Facebook page.

Once open, the center will seek volunteers and plans to host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
For those needing help before the official opening, support is already available via email at [email protected] or through Facebook. “If someone’s nervous, don’t be,” she said. “We’re here to support you, provide resources, and give factual information. You’re not alone—we want you to feel safe.”
The name “Olive Branch” is inspired by the biblical story of Noah, when a dove returned with an olive branch to signal safety and new beginnings. For the founder, it represents hope, new life, and fresh starts—values she hopes the center will embody for all who visit.
Two Bible verses hold special meaning for the founder: Psalm 127:3, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him,” and Psalm 52:8, which speaks of flourishing like an olive tree and trusting in God’s love. She believes these verses truly reflect the center’s mission.
Above all, the founder is excited to begin serving and hopes the community will feel comfortable seeking support at Olive Branch.
