The City of Morgantown hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning, April 16, to celebrate the grand opening of Casey's in Morgantown.

Mayor Billy Phelps welcomed Casey's to Morgantown and shared insights about the company.

Company Background & Milestones:

-Founded in 1968 by Don Lamberti in Boone, Iowa.

- Third-largest convenience store retailer and the fifth-largest pizza chain in the United States.

- Introduced made-from-scratch pizza in 1984, followed by breakfast pizza in 2001.

- Completed a full-scale rebranding in 2020; announced as the official "Pizza and Beer Headquarters" in 2023.

- Operates over 2,900 stores across 19 states.

- Employs more than 50,000 team members.

- Known for focusing on rural communities, typically serving cities with fewer than 5,000 residents.

Butler County Judge Executive Tim Flener also welcomed Casey's and "offered any assistance" the county could provide.

Casey’s presented the Butler County High School with a $1,000 check. The new store is located at 1840 South Main Street, next to Butler County High School.  Store hours are 5 am-10 pm Monday-Sunday.  270 460-2053
