Update 03-20-2026 - The body has been identified as James Eric Burden, 57 of Drakesboro. His complete obit can be found at Tucker Funeral Home. Per Deputy Coroner, Michael Gary, results are pending from the autopsy report. 

Kentucky State Police Conducts Death Investigation in Butler County 

ROCHESTER, KY. (March 16, 2026) – At approximately 9:00 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 03 received a call about an unresponsive male . Troopers went on the scene around the 8000 block of Rochester Road and located the male who was pronounced deceased by the Butler County Coroner. There is no immediate threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Detective Mike May.

A dead body has been found at a property in Rochester. Local law enforcement officers were notified early Monday morning. The identify of the individual has not been officially released to the public, pending family notification.

The Kentucky State Police is in charge of the investigation.
