Fiscal Court: Bridge Bids & River Barge discussed
Bids were on the agenda for the March 9 meeting of Butler County Fiscal Court. All magistrates and Judge/Executive Tim Flener were present.
The county received four bids for the Bryant Ridge Bridge Project:
Galusha Contracting $398,275;
Cambry Contracting $443,800;
Green River Equipment Leasing $445,668.50; Jave, LLC $477,426
By a 4-1 vote, with Fifth District Magistrate Dillon Bryant voting nay, the contract was awarded to Green River Equipment Leasing. The project requires a county match; the county must pay upfront and seek reimbursement. The county has previously advanced $70,000 on related work.
In other business, the county has been awarded $288,000 to build a new barge for the Rochester Ferry. Motion to accept the award and authorize signing was made and passed.

Magistrates approve several routine items at March meeting
Butler County Fiscal Court, at its March 9 regular meeting, approved several routine items:
—All regular bills and transfers for the month
—A transfer of $35,000 from the General Fund to the Jail Fund.
—A transfer of $10,000 from the General Fund to the E911 Fund.
—Monthly Treasurer’s Report
—PVA Contribution $9,144.25
—Purchase a new laptop for the 911 mapper.
—Pay directly and accept the lowest repair bid for two insurance claims.
—Maintain the courthouse lawn the same as last year.
—Open the Woodbury RV Park April 1: electrician reconnection cost $650, water reconnection, utilities to be turned on, and payments authorized.
