Price scores eight points for UT Martin in home opener

MARTIN, Tenn. — Freshman guard Ty Price, a Butler County High School graduate, scored eight points in the University of Tennessee at Martin's win over Kentucky Christian University at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on Sunday, Nov. 9.
The game served as a home opener for the Skyhawks.
Price, who nearly reached double figures in scoring for UT Martin, played 11 minutes. The freshman guard connected on three of six field goal attempts. The former Butler County High School standout drained two of four three-point field goal attempts in a solid outing.
In addition to netting eight points, Price contributed one rebound and one assist for the Skyhawks.
Price was named the 3rd Region Boys' Basketball Player of the Year in February and excelled throughout his high school career. As a senior in the 2024-25 boys' high school basketball season, Price averaged 28.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game for the Bears. Price, who has signed with the UT-Martin men's basketball program, scored 849 points and cleared out 292 rebounds during his senior campaign. For his career, Price delivered over 3,200 points, 500-plus assists and 500-plus made three-point field goals. As a senior, Price led the state in three-point field goal shooting.
UT Martin is scheduled to visit Bradley for its next game in Peoria, Ill., Wednesday, Nov. 12.
