Butler County doubles up Edmonson County 4-2
BROWNSVILLE — Butler County doubled up Edmonson County 4-2 in an 11th District girls' soccer match on Monday, Aug. 25.
Determined Butler County registered its first win in the 2025 girls' high school soccer season. Butler County entered the win column after opening the season 0-5.

Senior striker Loree Davidson led Butler County to the district win, scoring four goals for the Lady Bears.
Chipping in offensively for Butler County, Emma Clark and Tatiana Flores dealt out one assist apiece.
Defensively for Butler County, goalkeeper Carme Mendoza held Edmonson County to two goals. Mendoza recorded nine saves in the district match.
Butler County is scheduled to host Breckinridge County for another district match on Thursday, Aug. 28.
Bears shut out Wildcats 8-0
BROWNSVILLE — Butler County shut out Edmonson County 8-0 in an 11th District boys' soccer match on Monday, Aug. 25.
The Bears won via the KHSAA Mercy Rule.

Butler County benefitted from a balanced offensive attack which featured Jonathan Portillo (three goals), Kevin Mendoza (two goals, two assists), Eliazar Cordona (two goals), James Gomez (one goal), Carter West (two assists) and Reynaldo Paiz (one assist).
Defensively for Butler County, goalkeeper Landon Beatty recorded a shutout. Beatty logged 10 saves in Butler County's shutout win.
After notching the win, Butler County improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the 11th District.
Butler County is scheduled to visit Todd County Central for a non-district match on Thursday, Aug. 28.
