BASKETBALL: Catfish Festival 3-on-3 tournament held at city park

Summer hoops were in full swing on Saturday, June 28, as the 2025 Green River Catfish Festiveal 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament was held at the Charles Black City Park.

The competition was sponsored by Bluegrass Roofing, Rodney McMillin for Butler County Jailer, Bobby Smith-Butler County Farm Bureau Agency Manager, and Kenny Swift-Butler County PVA.

"Team BG" took 1st place after beating out some tough competition.

Tre Starks from Team BG won this year’s Tournament MVP award.

"The Winners" brought home the runner-up trophy.

"The Old Farts" won 1st place in our 30 & up division.

Trophies were provided by Hometown Trophy

Volunteers for the event were Lawson Rice, Britney Lee, Haley Brooks, Becky Vincent, Travis Vincent, James Alexander, Jared Rose, Rodney McMillin, and Jake Lee.
