Stolen property located, arrests made
Two individuals have been apprehended and are now lodged in Butler County Jail after an investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Department.
Deputy Talon Gary started his investigation after responding to a burglary at the 1980 McKendree Chapel Road residence on May 21. The owners are still determining the full extent of the stolen items, which include jewelry, a racing go-cart, semi-batteries, and miscellaneous items.
A second burglary was also reported on the same day. Charlie Tomes reported that his Honda 4-wheeler 500 was stolen from 1780 Al Embry Road.
Deputy Gary was able to obtain surveillance of the truck with a license plate (H9W083) hauling the Honda ATV in the truck bed. The owner of the Chevy Truck is Joseph Thomas of Grayson County.
Deputy Gary's investigation led him to 660 Bryant Hollow Road, where he made contact with Thomas and Nick Montgomery, also of Grayson County. The stolen items were located and verified by the rightful owners. With the landowner's permission, the stolen items were successfully recovered.

Both suspects, Thomas and Montgomery, were arrested and charged with serious offenses, including receiving stolen property $1,000 but under $10,000, burglary, 2nd degree, and criminal trespass 1st degree. They are lodged in the Butler County Jail and awaiting further legal proceedings.
According to K105, arrests made by the Kentucky State Police in Grayson County may be connected to these burglaries in Butler County.
