The Butler County Chapter NSDAR recently had their Silver Awards Program at BCHS in the Weymouth Martin Auditorium on April 24, 2025. The chapter presented three $500 scholarships and several other awards.

Sophia Burns, daughter of Delia and Randy Burns of the Provo community, received the Butler County DAR Scholarship. Sophia wrote of the blessings she has received from being allowed to be raised here in the United States and now she wants to be able to give back to her community. She plans to attend Western Kentucky University and major in Education so that she might teach.

Lydia Brown, the daughter of Brandon and Jennifer Brown, received the Mike Hayes Memorial Sports Scholarship because of her participation in both Softball and Archery. Her future plans include attending Murray State University with a major in Animal Science and Agribusiness.
