Butler County archery teams capture Region 2 titles

MORGANTOWN — The Butler County High School boys' and girls' archery teams captured KHSAA Region 2 titles on Saturday, March 22,

The Bears delivered a team score of 1,990 to win the KHSAA Region 2 boys' archery title.
The top three finishers in the KHSAA Region 2 Boys' Archery Tournament were from Butler County. Eli Ellis shot a 291 and placed first for the Bears. Directly behind Ellis, Jacob Vinson shot a 289 with 20 10s and placed second. Following Vinson, Jeffery Parrish shot a 289 with 19 10s and placed third.
Accompanying three of his teammates in the Top 10 for the Bears, Graysen Henderson shot a 286.

The Lady Bears delivered a team score of 1,979 to win the KHSAA Region 2 girls' archery title.
Maila Meredith paced the Lady Bears, shooting a 291 and placing second in the KHSAA Region 2 Girls' Archery Tournament. Following Meredith, Maggie Childers shot a 289 and placed third.
Joining two of their Butler County teammates in the Region 2 Girls' Archery Top 10 were Evelyn Burdette (285) and Raelynn Southerland (283).

The Butler Country reams will compete in the KHSAA State Archery Tournament at Central Bank Center in Lexington on Thursday, April 17.
