Mr. Mike & Ole Massey visit MES
What happens when a kind farmer meets a neglected tractor that was parked decades ago? They form a friendship that gives life and hope to their community—and to each other. That kind farmer and Ole Massey visited Morgantown Elementary on Friday.

Mr. Mike read the story of his book aloud to the students in kindergarten through third grade. He answered questions and let them see Ole Massey.
Ole Massey, a long-forgotten Massey tractor, spent many years sitting in a field, broken and abandoned in the weeds.
When Mr. Mike sees the sad tractor, he doesn't notice all the rust and broken parts. Instead, he sees a tractor with many wonderful things to experience.
After taking Ole Massey to his farm, Mr. Mike uses a lot of hard work, fixing up, and caring to restore Ole Massey and help him understand the beauty of second chances.

Author Mike Jackson grew up farming in southern Illinois and won his first tractor pull at the county fair at 15-years old. He graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in agriculture and worked with a heavy equipment dealer and a large agricultural machinery company for 40 years. He has restored many tractors and always found time to read books about tractors to his children and grandchildren. He hopes his books will be enjoyed by all families who love reading happy stories to their children.
