March Gladness raises over $8K for B&G Club

March kicked off with a bang on Saturday the 8th as Cool Springs Baptist Church held its annual March Gladness event. The annual fundraiser benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County and raised $8,336 for the organization.

The event featured a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a silent auction, a kids "hot shot" competition, other activities, and plenty of food.

Dustn Barnett's team won the 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Barnett is a teacher and head basketball coach at Butler County High School. Team members consisted of Barnett, Trevor Deweese, Kellon Meredith, and Briar Griffin.

"There are no words to express our gratitude to the members of Cool Spring Baptist Church for putting together the March Gladness event and raising $8,336 for our Boys and Girls Club! The work that goes into this event does not happen overnight," said a spokesperson from the B&G Club. "We would also like to thank everyone who donated items for our silent auction, sack lunches, or concessions for the day of. Thank you to all who had a team and everyone who bid on items. Boys and Girls Club could not do what we do without this community."
