Belmont Christian Academy honors seniors

Tristan Shane Burden is the son of Michael and Farrah Burden. He has played basketball for 6 years. After graduation, Shane plans to pursue a career in nursing. His favorite memory from Belmont is having the opportunity to go on mission trips around the world as a student there. He said, “I would like to thank my parents for always trying to make as many games as possible and always being by my side. I would also like to thank my coaches, Matt and Scott, for supporting me and showing care for me as a player and as a whole.”

Shelby Daugherty is the daughter of Jason and Tabby Daugherty. She has played volleyball for a total of 6 years. Shelby plans to attend college after graduation but, at this time, is undecided on a major. Her favorite memory from BCA is van rides with the team moms (Missy and Ashley), and one time, she and Mahli almost went into a sugar coma eating a whole Dairy Queen Cake in the back of the van. In her own words, “First of all, I want to thank my parents for their love and support. Throughout all my years in athletics, my dad has always been the one to give me the best pep talks and offer encouraging words that will stick with me for the rest of my life. My mom has been my biggest cheerleader on and off the court and has always supported me in everything I do. I also want to thank my coaches for helping me grow in the sport I love and for encouraging me always to do my best. I want to thank my teammates, past and present. Whether we were winning or losing, playing with my best friends over the last few years has been a huge blessing. Most importantly, I want to thank God for the privilege of playing for this team.”

Chloe Cardwell is the daughter of Chad and Leslie Cardwell. She has been involved with cheer for 6 years. She plans to attend an aesthetician school at Campbellsville University in the fall. Chloe’s favorite memory from BCA is every time that she’s gotten to help with the little cheerleaders and all of her devotions that she’s done with the first and second-grade class. She said, “Thank you to my parents for always supporting me in everything I do, even if it is just a spur-of-the-moment decision.”

Seth VanMeter is the son of Danny and Trish VanMeter. Seth has played basketball for 11 years and plans on going to college to study electrical engineering. Seth’s favorite memories from BCA are tournaments and overnight stays with his team. He would like to thank all of the coaches and teammates he has had the opportunity to play basketball with.
