Lady Bears suffer two-point loss to Greenwood
MORGANTOWN — Butler County came up short as Greenwood held on to win 71-69 in a girls' high school basketball game on Monday, Feb. 3.
Following the loss, Butler County fell to 9-11.
Butler County started strong, outscoring Greenwood 19-17 in the opening quarter.
However, Greenwood managed to move ahead and eventually led 40-34 at halftime.

Maintaining an advantage midway through the second half, Greenwood led 62-55 at the end of the third period.
Ava Wilson paced Butler County, scoring 26 points for the Lady Bears.
Accompanying Wilson in double figures for Butler County, Ann Marie Skaggs scored 15 points, Karrington Hunt netted 11 points and Tinslea Belcher posted 10 points.
Rounding out Butler County's scoring, Carley Cardwell added seven points.
Butler County is scheduled to host Edmonson County for a 12th District girls' basketball game at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.
