The following statement was read on 8th Grade Night:

Evie is and will continue to be a loved and cherished part of Butler County Middle School. Evie was an active member of many clubs and programs. She is truly missed every day by all. Maressa has played an active role in keeping Evie's memory alive by supporting and providing for every sports program with love and meals. At this time, please stand and join everyone in supporting Maressa and honor Evie with a moment of silence.

Evelyn "Evie" Johnson died in 2023 from a tragic vehicle-related accident.
