Bears drop game at Daviess County
OWENSBORO — Butler County suffered a setback as Daviess County prevailed 84-77 in a boys' high school basketball matchup between 3rd Region rivals on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Following the loss, Butler County fell to 6-8.
Daviess County carried a lead out of each quarter, edging the Bears 24-22 in the opening period.
The Panthers led 43-35 at halftime.
Extending its lead after the break, Daviess County exited the third quarter ahead 67-51.
Ty Price paced Butler County, scoring 26 points for the Bears.
Accompanying Price in double figures for Butler County, Briar Griffin scored 15 points, Justin Castlen netted 12 points and Trever Deweese tallied 10 points.
Narrowly missing double figures for Butler County, Curtis Murphy scored nine points.
Rounding out Butler County's scoring, Case Hooten chipped in five points.
Butler County is scheduled to visit Edmonson County for a 12th District game at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17.
