Lady Bears reach semi-finals in 11th District

MORGANTOWN — Host Butler County picked up a win in the 11th District Girls' Soccer Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Following the win over Breckinridge County Butler advanced to the semi-finals.

Butler County 5, Breckinridge County 3: Butler County beat Breckinridge County 5-3 in the semifinals of the 11th District Girls' Soccer Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Loree Davidson scored two goals to lead the Lady Bears.

Joining Davidson in Butler County's scoring column, Bailey Moore, Trinity Givens and Alexis Strong netted one goal apiece.

Davidson, Givens and Jessica Alonzo each dished out one assist for the Lady Bears.

Defensively for Butler County, goalkeeper Larkin O'Connell recorded two saves while holding Breckinridge County to three goals.

Meade County 14, Butler County 0: Butler County couldn't break into the scoring column as Meade County pulled away to win 14-0 in the 11th District Girls' Soccer Tournament title match on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Defensively for Butler County, goalkeeper Larkin O'Connell tallied 11 saves in the shutout loss.

With the loss, Butler County slipped to 2-13-1.
