Mark Allen's Football Scouting Report 2024 -
Grayson Co. Cougars
The Grayson Co. Cougars are the week #4 opponent. Here are the
quick facts on the Cougars:
Grayson Co. Cougars football program is Class 5A. Last season in
2023 the Cougars went (10-2) overall. Last years Grayson/ Butler Co.
football game resulted in a 40-6 win by Grayson Co.
The 2024 Grayson Co. team comes to town with an overall record to
date of (2-1). Wins over Edmonson Co. 35-0, and McLean Co. 14-6; and a
loss to Marshall Co. 10-8.
But the attention getter is Grayson Co. has the #1 ranked Defense in
the entire state of Kentucky this week. Grayson Co. has allowed only (16)
total points in three games.
Grayson Co. Defense per game is allowing only (5) points per game,
allowing only 125 yards rushing per game; and allowing only 62 passing
yards per game. Offensively the Cougars return two key players: Senior QB
Kolby Chaffins and Sophomore RB Kadin Hanshaw.
#3 Hanshaw last season in 2023 exploded onto the scene as
freshman rushing for 1,369 yards, and (23) rushing touchdowns. Against
the Bears last year Hanshaw rushed for (219 yards) and (4) touchdowns.
To date this season #3 Hanshaw has already rushed for (274 yards)
on (46 carries) averaging (91 yards) per game. But also keep an eye on Sr.
QB Chaffins who is a very accurate passer and can run the ball when
needed. The Bears Defense must rise to the task and keep the Cougars
offense in check. Kickoff is at 7pm Friday, September 13 th on the campus of
Butler Co. High School.
