Bears to visit Logan County for 2024 season opener

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to visit Logan County for its opening game in the 2024 high school football season on Friday, Aug. 23. 

 

The Bears and Cougars did not meet during the 2023 high school football season. 


Butler County competes in Class 3A, District 2. The Bears compiled a 2-8 record in the 2023 high school football season. Butler County missed out on advancing to the 2023 KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs but will be looking to show improvement early in the upcoming campaign. First-year head coach Josh Robins guides the Bears. 


Logan County competes in Class 4A, District 1. The Cougars put together an 8-4 record in the 2023 high school football season. Logan County reached the second round of the 2023 KHSAA Class 4A Playoffs. Head coach Todd Adler guides the Cougars. 


Butler County has regular season games scheduled versus Logan County (Aug. 23), Webster County (Aug. 30), Warren Central (Sept. 6), Grayson County (Sept. 13), Hart County (Sept. 20), Franklin-Simpson (Sept. 27), Bethlehem (Oct. 4), Adair County (Oct. 18), Glasgow (Oct. 25) and Ohio County (Nov. 1). 

 

Logan County has regular season games scheduled versus Butler County (Aug. 23), Rossview (Tenn.) (Aug. 30), Russellville (Sept. 6), Greenwood (Sept. 13), Allen County-Scottsville (Sept. 20), Calloway County (Sept. 27), Paducah Tilghman (Oct. 4), Hopkinsville (Oct. 18), Warren East (Oct. 25) and South Warren (Nov. 1). 


Both Butler County and Logan County started preseason practice in July, following the conclusion of the KHSAA Dead Period. 


Kickoff for the Butler County-Logan County football game is set for 8 p.m.
