Butler County home to two 2024 Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Farm Markets

Louisville, KY (May 9, 2024) – Cardwell Family Farms and Struttin Rooster Farm, both located in Butler County, are proud to announce their acceptance into the 2024 Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) Certified Farm Market Program.

As members of this prestigious program, these markets have committed to providing top-quality products and services to their customers. This certification ensures that each market meets the highest standards of quality, freshness, and marketing appeal.

Cardwell Family Farms, located at 488 Stringtown Road in Morgantown, offers strawberries, homegrown hydroponic tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce, as well as tomato juices, salsa and diced tomato jars. Mums are available in the fall. Visit Facebook for more: www.facebook.com/CardwellFamilyFarms.

Located at 1326 Al Embry Road in Jetson, Struttin Rooster Farm raises tomatoes, squash, zucchini, peppers, potatoes, cabbage, broccoli and a variety of other vegetables. In the fall, the farm offers family hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Guests can visit its farm animals throughout the year. For more, go to www.facebook.com/struttinroosterfarm.

KFB President Eddie Melton is excited about the continued growth of the KFB Certified Farm Market Program. He remarked on the increasing demand for locally grown foods, which is a positive development over the last few years. He added, "We look forward to another successful season of providing farm-fresh goods to customers by some of the best producers across this state."

The KFB Certified Farm Market logo identifies markets certified through this program, and they are listed in the online directory. The program also provides collective advertising, promotional items, educational tour opportunities, and other marketing benefits, with the aim of increasing the net farm income of member markets.

Consumers can find the KFB Certified Farm Market Rack Card at Kentucky welcome centers, state resort parks, local chambers of commerce/tourism centers, and county Farm Bureau offices. Alternatively, they can visit the KFB Certified Farm Market website at kyfb.com/certified for a complete list of markets or download the KFB App.

KFB is celebrating its 29th year of offering the Certified Farm Market program, and interested parties can visit kyfb.com/certified, e-mail [email protected], or "Like" the Certified Farm Market Facebook page at facebook.com/KYCertifiedFarmMarket to learn more.
