BCHS Baseball completes busy Spring Break week of games

Butler Co. 1       Daviess Co. 6

Butler County Bears fell to Daviess County Panthers 1-6 on Monday. Daviess County scored three runs in the fifth inning. Daviess County offense in the inning was led by Troutman and Huskisson, all knocking in runs.

Clay Vincent was on the pitcher's mound for Butler County. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out one and walking zero. Justin Castlen threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Kolton Hudson and Vincent each collected one hit to lead the Bears.

 

Butler Co. 2     Holy Cross 10

Butler County Bears watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-2 loss to Holy Cross Cougars on Wednesday. 

The Bears struggled to put runs on the board and needed help defending Holy Cross Cougars, giving up ten runs.

Holy Cross Cougars evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Hand singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Holy Cross Cougars pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. 

Kolton Hudson took the loss for Butler County Varsity Bears. He surrendered eight runs on ten hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one.

Hudson, Justin Castlen, Jake McKee, Parker Pendley, and Layton Phelps each managed one hit.

 

Butler Co.  0    Lafayette 9

On Tuesday, nothing came easy for Butler County Varsity Bears, as they fell 9-0 to the Lafayette Generals.

One bright spot for the Bears was a single by Kolton Hudson in the first inning.

Garrett Phelps led things off on the pitcher's mound for Butler County. He allowed five hits and six runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Brayden Clark threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Hudson led Butler County Varsity Bears with two hits in two at-bats.

 

Butler Co. 6     Nelson Co. 4

Butler County Bears was victorious over Nelson County Cardinals, 6-4

the Bears got on the board in the first inning. Justin Castlen doubled on the first pitch at bat, scoring one run.

Clay Vincent was the winning pitcher for Butler County. He surrendered four runs on eight hits over five and a third innings, striking out three. Castlen and Kolton Hudson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Castlen went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Butler County in hits.

 

Butler Co.  0  Brooksville 3

Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound on Monday, but Brookville  Blue Devils was a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Butler County on Monday. Jake McKee started the game for Butler County and recorded 12 outs.

A single by McKee in the second inning was positive for Butler County.

McKee led things off on the hill for Butler County Varsity Bears. McKee went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out six, and walking zero. Garrett Phelps and Justin Castlen entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one inning, respectively.

McKee and Colt Akers each managed one hit to lead the Bears.

 

Butler Co. 1     Spencer Co. 9

Butler County  Bears fell to Spencer County Bears 9-1 on Sunday.

Spencer County scored three runs in the fifth inning. 

Will Embry was on the pitcher's mound for Butler County. Embry surrendered five runs on five hits over three innings, striking out four. Brayden Clark and Will Amos entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning, respectively.

Kolton Hudson and Jake McKee each collected one hit to lead the Bears.
