Magistrates make personnel move; approve purchase of four snow plows

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, November 14, at the courthouse. All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.

The Court approved the minutes from October 24, 2022, and went into a closed session to discuss personnel matters pursuant to KRS 61.810a(F). Upon returning to the open session, the magistrates approved the dismissal of Jeremy Thompson from the county road department.

The Court approved the purchase of four snow plows, if on the state contract, not to exceed $50,000. They also approved the purchase of a single-axle dump truck with specifications provided by the county road foreman.

Second District Magistrate Kevin Phelps said the city of Woodbury is seeking permission to install a bathroom in the county building.  The request was approved.

 

The Court approved the following on a 5-0 vote:

--Pay $2,328.99 in Transient Room Tax to Butler County Tourism Commission

--A bid of $1,900 to Heaven's Best Carpet Cleaning for Circuit Court

--Set Fiscal Court meetings and Butler County Courthouse holidays for 2023

--Application for EMA 50/50 grant $4,887.78 for equipment

--Purchase replacement radio for $1,538.50 from VEI Communications

--Litter Abatement payments: Provo RD $600, BCMS Volleyball $462, BCHS Golf $533.70, BCHS Softball $500, BCHS Football $600, BCMS Softball $500, Belmont Christian Academy $509.20, Belmont Volleyball $599, Reedyville RD $590, Temple View Church $649

--Monthly Treasurer's settlement

--Transfer $35,000 from General Fund to Jail Fund
