Green Valley Vision

We need God. Our society needs God. Our communities need God. Our schools need God. Our workplaces need God. Our families need God. Everywhere we look we see everyone needing God for daily decisions, purpose, and life.

In light of the recent massacre of lives, most very young, we realize a lot of things may be needed, but especially God is needed in the hearts and lives of people. Our hearts hurt with those who have lost so much that is precious to them.  How their lives have been changed forever. May God comfort them in each each passing day.

Proverbs 3:5-6 demonstrates our need to depend on God and exalt Him in our lives. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” indicates how our Father is our greatest friend. Do we truly trust in Him?  1 Peter 5:7 says we should cast all our care on Him because He really cares for us. Philippians 4:6 claims we should “be anxious for nothing” but by our prayers we trust God and seek His strength and comfort.

“And lean not on your own understanding.”  There are some things, like this latest school shooting, we just don’t get. No sense. We can’t understand it. God can help us. Philippians 4:7 assures us if we seek God’s help He will give us peace that is hard to understand but is welcome in our hearts and lives.

“In all your ways acknowledge Him” tells us to follow God and recognize His ways and laws as our own. Do we?  We cannot pick and choose but must accept all.  Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1 to “follow me just as I also follow Christ.”  Please read 2 Chronicles 7:14

Lastly, “And He shall direct our paths.”  Psalm 119:105 reads, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”  God’s Word will guide us and keep us in the right direction, leaning on God. May we seek God in times of senseless brutality. He will help us all through it. In Him, Kenny
