BC Schools: Classes cancelled Friday, February 4 - NO NTI

UPDATED POST: Due to continuing winter weather conditions, Butler County Schools will be closed Friday, February 4. Friday will NOT be an NTI (non-traditional instruction) day. It will be a traditional weather-related cancellation.

ORIGINAL WEATHER CLOSING POST:

With the impending winter weather, the Butler County School District has decided to utilize NTI Day #6 for Thursday, February 3rd, 2022.  That announcement was made yesterday afternoon as a winter storm was heading toward the region.

"With the current ice storm warning beginning at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning, the variation in weather models starting with freezing precipitation between noon and 3 p.m., and with only 1 to 2 degrees making the difference between freezing rain and plain rain, there is much difficulty in making this decision," said Butler County Schools' Superintendent Robert Tuck on Wednesday afternoon.  "In order to ensure the safety of all students and staff due to this uncertainty in the weather, we have decided to use tomorrow, Thursday, February 3rd as NTI Day #6.

No decision has been made yet regarding Friday, February 4.
