On the last day of school, members of the Green River Chapter NSDAR joined 5th Graders and their teacher, April Jackson in the Media Center at North Butler Elementary School to celebrate the hanging of the portrait of General George Washington.
The Green River Chapter has participated in the project of Mt. Vernon to hang his portrait in every school in Butler County.
Mrs. Elaine Daugherty, Principal of NBES, is a member of the Chapter along with Casey Porter, Regent Melanie Hunt, Rachel Colter and Christine Coleman.   The portraits have also been hung in BCHS,  Butler County Middle School, and Morgantown Elementary.
