Grand Jury Indictments

The Butler County Grand Jury returned indictments against several individuals. Arraignments are scheduled for September 10. Charges include murder, possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, theft and burglary, fleeing and evading, and criminal trespassing, among other charges. Many of the charges are drug-related with methamphetamine appearing to be the drug of choice.

A criminal indictment occurs when a Grand Jury finds that enough evidence exists for the case to go to trial. An indictment is not a statement of guilt. A guilty or not guilty determination will be rendered during the trial phase of the criminal justice proceeding.
