Lady Bears claim win over Logan County

MORGANTOWN - Butler County continued to win at the start of the week, defeating visiting Logan County 44-34 in a girls' high school basketball game on Monday, Feb. 22.
With the win, Butler County improved to 5-4. 
Logan County dropped to 1-17 with the loss. 
Butler County led 24-20 at halftime. Stretching its lead after the intermission period, Butler County led 37-29 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 
Taylin Clark led the Lady Bears with a game-high 17 points. Accompanying Clark in double figures in scoring for the Lady Bears, Jaelyn Taylor netted 14 points.
Narrowly missing double figures in scoring for Butler County, Graci Leach chipped in nine points. 
Rounding out Butler County's individual scoring, Gracie Cardwell and Cora McMillan added two points apiece. 
Defensively, Butler County limited Logan County during the prep hoops matchup, especially in the second half. 
Struggling offensively, Logan County shot 28.9 percent (11-of-38) from the field. The Lady Cougars were 2-of-8 from 3-point range.
Logan County shot 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line. 
Emily Borders (eight points), Emerson McKinnis (six points), Kadyn Costello (six points), Sierra Seiber (five points), Gracie Borders (four points), Kaelyn Perdue (three points) and Abby Hinton (two points) accounted for Logan County's scoring in the loss.
